he online activites
of the Submissive Wife Project exist to give information, focus and
support to a small, extremely private community of women who
are sympathetic to or participating in one aspect or another of the Project and who wish to learn how to live a life in submission. The Project advocates fairly specific ways of doing this. While alternative views are always welcome, the primary function of the community in articulating the principles of the Project remains constant. In the short time the community has been
online, members have contributed thousands of articles on everything
from the most intimate aspects of submissive sexuality to information relating
to health and nutrition to explorations of the relationships between sexuality
and spiritual health. Private, often unlisted, subcommunities flourish in an atmosphere of discretion and with a dedication to privacy. The value of the community is accretive: The community's posts are an invaluable archive of thoughts, experiences and insights.
The community is extremely diverse: We
have members from all over the world who represent a wide spectrum of interests
and professions. Some of us are stay-at-home mothers, some are artists and
writers, others are physicians, lawyers, teachers and social workers. A small
number of us are project participants. Others are monitored members and
mentors. Most are involved with the Project only through their
role in the community. A very few of us are single, but most of us are married
women with families. As a rule, we do not view submission as something defined solely
by an affection for kinky sex (although that's a fairly frequent topic for conversation!), and we certainly do not think submission equates
to subservience or inferiority.
The community, like the Project to
which it is ancillary, obviously is not for every woman. There are many
different ways to approach submission in marriage and in life. Our community and
our website reflect the approach we prefer, but you need not be a participant in
any other part of our Project to become a community member. For information on how the
community operates, please read the page devoted to community guidelines. You
will note that some of the text on this page has been adapted from that page.

he community offers women who are participants and monitored members an opportunity to join unmonitored community members in sharing experiences and information from their own lives. The various forums in the community serve to help direct inquiries from those who seek support from others and who wish to deposit their own insights for the benefit of their sisters in the community.
To make the operation of the community as useful and welcoming as possible, some community members volunteer to help in specific ways. They are identified in the articles and posts they contribute.
Mentors. Chosen from among our forum advisors, moderators and participants, a community mentor is assigned to each new member, often even before she is admitted. The role of the mentor is to help a new community member find her way around the community and to answer basic questions about how it works and the role it plays in the Project generally. Over the brief time our community has been online, we have seen tremendous growth. The articles in our archives would fill many large volumes. Many new members find they are simply overwhelmed by the depth and range of the community once they have been given access to it Mentors try to help by offering careful guidance on a temporary basis. The relationship between a mentor and a new member is private and discreet (the message concerning mentoring sent to community novices on admission is here). The process is supervised by at least one other experienced, full Project participant. It's important to note that mentors have a transient role and are distinct from monitors who work one-on-one with other members in a private fashion for a much longer period of time, and moderators who manage a specific community area.
Senior community members are those who are familiar with the basic tenets of the Project and who have some experience with the way in which the community operates technically. They may or may not be full Project participants, monitored members or mentors.(Monitored members are not identified as such in the community.)
Moderators are those who undertake the smooth operation of a specific community area. They are selected on the basis of their knowledge and experience in the subjects covered by their forums or because moderating in a specific area is seen as useful for their own formation. They can generally represent the views and values of the project with accuracy.
Participants are those whose formation has been overseen
directly by the Project's common instructor. Some participants have many years of experience
in the Project. Others are relatively new. All understand the basic
assumptions of the Project, embrace its disciplines and can help reliably answer
questions from those seeking information and support.
This site is not
meant to recruit members; if you have been given access to this page it is
because you have sought this information.
